United Way Broward and Fort Lauderdale United FC are joining forces to be United For Good, creating new ways to connect students, families, Veterans, and individuals throughout Broward County with opportunities and support.
The partnership will extend far beyond the soccer field. Fort Lauderdale United FC players, staff, and supporters will become involved in United Way Broward programs and initiatives throughout the year, using the power of sports to bring people together and inspire action.
Creating Opportunities Beyond the Match
Through United Way Broward's ReadingPals and Community Partnership Schools, Fort Lauderdale United FC players will have opportunities to meet with students, share their experiences, and encourage young people as they pursue their own goals.
Youth soccer clinics will provide another opportunity for local children to build confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging. The partnership will also include quarterly service projects, giving fans and partners opportunities to get involved, as well as support for health initiatives and MISSION UNITED’s work with Veterans and their families.
Join Us for the United For Good Match
The partnership will take center stage on Friday, November 6, when Fort Lauderdale United FC hosts Tampa Bay Sun FC for the club’s first-ever United For Good match.
A portion of all ticket sales will be donated to United Way Broward, turning every ticket purchased into another way to support our work throughout Broward County. United Way Broward will also be at the match to share ways fans can volunteer, give back, and connect with resources.
The evening will also celebrate the partnership throughout the stadium with custom player warmup shirts, a player walkout with children from a partner school, a Veteran color guard, and a special halftime check presentation.
